Special Exhibition The Earthly Paradise of Hangzhou and the Wuyue Kingdom: Buddhist Belief in Artwork

Famous for its beautiful scenery including West Lake, Hangzhou flourished as the capital of the Wuyue Kingdom during China’s Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, as well as the Southern Song dynasty. Focusing on the international cultural metropolis of Hangzhou, this exhibition explores the extensive cultural crossroads that once converged in East Asia.
